Foobys ph2 GTi6 Project

8/7/10

Well, im feeling left out now, time to make my own project thread.. where um, not much will happen Big Grin

Its a Phase 2 GTi6 (not a parts bin unfortunately)

Plans?: No idea, however all i know at the moment is that i am going to phase 3 it.

I have already fitted crystals and p3 side repeaters.

I have just got a bargin deal on some p3 diablo bits so im proper chuffed about that.

- P3 Bootlid,
- P3 Diablo fully colour coded Skirts
- also colour coded bump strips.
- P3 parcel shelf.
- Trying to also get the p3 fogs too, but there is a disagreement about ownership of those between myself and the person who brokered this deal Big Grin (not nasty, i'm trying to claim ownership even though i never said i wanted them Big GrinDD)

Car has already been lowered 20mm on the front on Eiabac springs.

Some pics after Scott very kindly detailed it for me making it very shiney.

I'll get more pics once i've fitted some Phase 3 bits to it.

Just to add, thanks to Scotts awesome detailing my car looked lovely when it rained yesterday i took pics Big Grin

Anyway update:

This happened on sunday night.

Massive thanks to Steveig who as well as taking shit off his neighbour was welding this bad boy back together at 1:30am.

Big thanks to you mate you got me home!

3/8/10

Well a brief update:

Phase 3 Bootlid has been fitted.
I have the clips and stuff for skirts but not been to dums to get it all fitted yet.

Stevieg has very kindly fixed my exhaust with epic amounts of weld Big Grin hopefully it will last a little bit till it gets replaced.

He also replaced the clutch cable which has made it nicer, however it still slightly judders so i suspect early signs of needing a new clutch.

He also fixed my headlights pointing at the floor (since my failed install of changing adjusters over)

So big thanks to steveig and paddy who came down to fix my car over the weekend. Much fun was had Smile

15/8/10

Well after the shenanigans of the camping meet and the defacing my car. It needed cleaning.

So, with the obligatory photo of scott.. He cleaned my car for me Smile

15/12/10

Probably wont supercharge. Dont really know.

However, update. After a fun time at the christmas meet i arrived home and thought my car was a little louder than it should be.

Yesterday i inspected and found it to be blowing again (even with a replacement cat).

Its in the garage today and i got a pic of the problem... same as before:

Its gone in the same place.

So i suspect my juddering from the clutch is causing the engine to move and therefore the cat/exhaust and its vibrating/breaking itself.

Its also in for a cambelt+waterpump whilst its there as it needs doing in <1k anyway.

I told the guy to use Gates cambelt kit and hes going to use some geniune waterpump thing as well.

£390 all in for the welding and cambelt stuffs, joy. Just before christmas too Sad

Disks were worn to heck right around the car, so decided to replace all disks and pads right around...

Then decided it was time to fix the annoying idle the car has, searchs around all the time, so thought it must be the renound ICV, so took that off, cleaned it up, idles perfect now!

Then decided this was a mess:

So gave it a clean up:

@ Poodle, yes it's off the road at the moment. currently sharing my gran's drive with my '6 which is also in winter hibernation.

@ Kim; I've been on at Fooby for so long to learn to clean his own damn car that he's finally bought his own stuff and started taking an interest :p Last time we were at mine, he ACTUALLY washed it himself, with the 2bucket method, and a micro-mitt, and a whole load of autoglym stuff! Gotta teach him how to srp & wax it next! Tongue

All this car needs is a 2860RS.

Then it'll be win.

Or maybe if Fooby feels like splashing the cash, a Precision 6262...

Curt, why not undo the sump plug and run the hose through the filler cap, I'm sure the internals could do with a clean! Make sure you start it with your foot to the floor though.

ROFL.

Tbh you could start with giving it a proper clean, rather than the pikey-clean Fooby gave it after covering it in mud lol
