So much choice these days LOL
I was thinking of going 75w90 for gbox oil change but wondered if there was any advantage to paying about £1.0 more and going 'fully synth' !
Be interested to see any opinions - Thanks

I just put fully synthetic in mine. Prob not much different but might as well as I'll only be doing it once. It's definitely made the change to first gear easier. I put 80 90 in once thinking all gearbox oil was the same and it went stiff to get in all gears. Won't make that mistake again.

Last 2 litres of 'box oil I bought from Citroen (closer than Pug) cost £16.38 for reference.

I bought two litres at the weekend from the local dealer... £15.01 inc VAT
Interestingly, they're still supplying the earlier Esso BV 75W80 oil rather than the replacement Total Gear8 stuff.
£13 delivered for the Total stuff is good value. As others have said, it's certainly worth getting the correct stuff as the synchros seem to be very fussy about oil used.

Royal purple seems to be hyped about in America a lot but doesn't seem to have taken off that well in the UK. Unless they aren't aiming for the UK market

My 306 seems to be ok with the total gear oil - maybe has slightly nicer change : )
As soon as I finished the job - everything even slightly tainted by the old gear oil was put into a plastic bag and taken to the dump,I did not even want the smell in our bin LOL,I put the old gear oil into the now empty total containers and took them to the waste oil tank - bloody stuff stinks - yuk !
