Why do the hdi's have two sump plugs, one otop of the other? No one seems to know? Iv heard some crap theory's but nothing solid?..........anyone?

Don't know for sure but I always assumed it was for a sensor that was used on other cars with that sump, oil temp or something.

If it's the same sump as the XSI/'6 its for the oil temp sensor

Iv never seen any psa sump with a sensor located there though. I dunno. Possibly the designer dropped a bollock and realised he could only drain half the oil so added a lower one as a last ditch attempt . Tbf the blank for a sensor explanation seems more viable though.

so you can pick which angle to drain your oil at . . .
Phase 1 D-Turdo, K14@24 psi, De-cat, meaty backbox, Bosch pump, grinded LDA pin, duel air fed K&N =133.7bhp & 188ft/lbs

I think there is a set volume of oil left if you have the car perfectly flat (ie on a ramp) and drain from the top one too.

I always take the filler cap of for a breather when i drain one out
