The sump plug mystery? - JJtheHITMAN - 03-12-2013 Why do the hdi's have two sump plugs, one otop of the other? No one seems to know? Iv heard some crap theory's but nothing solid?..........anyone? RE: The sump plug mystery? - Toms306 - 03-12-2013 Don't know for sure but I always assumed it was for a sensor that was used on other cars with that sump, oil temp or something. RE: The sump plug mystery? - Midnightclub - 03-12-2013 What he said to be fair.. more than likely for oil temp RE: The sump plug mystery? - cully - 03-12-2013 i could tell you but id have to kill you cause its a secret! RE: The sump plug mystery? - Grant - 03-12-2013 If it's the same sump as the XSI/'6 its for the oil temp sensor RE: The sump plug mystery? - Piggy - 03-12-2013 the 2.1 sump has three RE: The sump plug mystery? - JJtheHITMAN - 03-12-2013 Iv never seen any psa sump with a sensor located there though. I dunno. Possibly the designer dropped a bollock and realised he could only drain half the oil so added a lower one as a last ditch attempt . Tbf the blank for a sensor explanation seems more viable though. RE: The sump plug mystery? - Mattcheese31 - 03-12-2013 so you can pick which angle to drain your oil at . . . RE: The sump plug mystery? - Dum-Dum - 04-12-2013 I think there is a set volume of oil left if you have the car perfectly flat (ie on a ramp) and drain from the top one too. RE: The sump plug mystery? - Lego Jon - 05-12-2013 Might be a mad suggestion but, is it a breather plug? RE: The sump plug mystery? - Just Sean - 05-12-2013 I always take the filler cap of for a breather when i drain one out RE: The sump plug mystery? - Lego Jon - 05-12-2013 Good point. Lol |
