Been doing a bit of research and have made a little discovery.
This will only work on PULL type clutches eg:S16 GTI6 Dturbo . NOT HDI (as this uses a push type clutch)
As i'm converting my HDI to a pull type clutch and GTI6 flywheel this will work perfectly.
Now this is the cable I used (Citroen ZX 16v BE3 Pull type)

There's differences in the bung which goes into the pedal box, also a slight difference in diameter on the plastic part:
Left = ZX cable
Right = 306 Dturbo

Remove the bung on the ZX cable and slice it off

Remove the 306 bung by sliding it off, over the plastic clip. No need to cut it (ignore the hack saw blade.

Slide the bung over the end of the ZX clutch cable, now this is where the slight difference in diameter causes a slight issue but i was going wrap a bit of insulation tape around the plastic part so the bung sits central. I cannot see this causing an issue. Or may finding a thin plastic sleeve to take up the gap.

And voila! Finished item. A adjustable pull type cable for a BE3 box .
I'll be fitting in the next few weeks.
