They'll both be 1.9 Mi16's at that age.
2.0's were on the Phase 2 cars from 1992/K reg onwards and as far as I know there was no 2 litre Mi16x4

Oh right, I thought it was the other way around, that there were no 2.0 4x4s?

The 1.9 Mi16x4 engine was basically the same as the regular 2wd model, but the block was slightly different where the rear engine mount attaches (3 holes rather than 4) and the camshafts were slightly longer duration I believe - not personally measured them to confirm that, but that's what the general concensus says and certainly the 205's I've driven or converted using a Mi16x4 engine have sounded a little more "cammy" As said, I think the Mi16x4 was not carried over to the Phase 2 405's and the 2.0 Mi16 engine, but I'm sure that Welshpug or Miles will confirm that one way or t'other

Ticking timebomb, But as said 1.9 Mi4x4 was it, the 2.0 8v made a very brief appearance as a 4x4, I did know of one locally (estate) but it's not got a V5 as it or should have been scrapped
