So here's my 2000(X) hdi 5 door which has only just stopped costing me over the odds in repairs from the atrocious Herefordshire roads I drive daily. Had an obsession of eating through outer tread on tyres, warping the sidewall from potholes.
Constantly having new wishbones and balljoints, shredding wheel bolts. Finally before the mot expiry it had most of the front suspension replaced. Wishbones with balljoints, track rods and ends, coilovers with new top mounts etc, second hand good hubs with new bearings, new drop links. So god forbid any of that goes wrong... For a while anyway.
Stage 1 on a whiny assed turbo, cat back straight stainless exhaust, 283mm gti brakes, coilovers, anthracite vortexes (not on at the moment), rear dewiper. Not much else to say about iir. This car has been a tank done 60k in 10 months in it and not missed a beat.
Will soon be on windscreen number 3 in my ownership, new moonstone front bumper is needed as well as side side skirts, new turbo, fmic, stage 2 clutch and stage 2 map upload.
Let's see how this turns out.
