Hello Everyone,
I have the possibility of getting a roll cage fairly cheap. Obviously its for a 3 door and I have a 5 door :/ I wondered what peoples thoughts were?
Im single now with no friends so the rear seats will never need to go back in. The main hoop will be in the middle of the rear doors so I think it will look a bit odd!

Or is a better option buying it, storing it, and then buying a 3 door 1.8 in astor and then dropping the engine, all the mods and cage into that? Thoughts!
This is near me and looks mint!

Reshell the engine IMO.
A 5 door modified looks 'desperate' at best - whilst some will look good, the same work / mods on a 3 door looks better - so do it while it's cheap.

Don't get me wrong mate, your 5 door looks good. But everything you are doing to it (stripping and racecar'ing it) just seems a bit ironic in a 5 door...

as smart as your car is BECAUSEracecar 5 doors do look a little gay, & putting a cage in would tip it over the edge .... so yeah 3 door

Figure out the cage in your 5 door and then sell it to me for the estate and then reshell and buy yourself a standard cage.

How often do you need to get in the rear? Tailgate?
How often do you need to work on the cage? Fit it? It doesn't need an oil change or re-greasing! It's a cage!
C'mon dude, 3 doors makes sense. I'm a family man and can still justify a sporty looking 3-door

Tell me CAR and Jamie....how many full cages have you welded into cars??
Doing one on a 5dr evo was a doddle compared to 3dr escort and puma...ignore the puma...that was just silly tight

It should fit, but buy a 3 door anyway.
Custom roll cages/shiny suspension bits/general fabrication work undertaken, PM me.
Top engine mount repair/reinforcement/chocking for cracked chassis and high powered cars, drive in, drive out, 2 hour turnaround.

Pretty sure they don't do a 5 Door Evo which officially got exported from Japan, so that's rare. Do you have any photographs?

Show me a 3 door evo...!
Think you will find only the Norris 3dr Evo, as there isnt a 3dr evo from factory.

I was being facetious. You can get a 'Wagon' Evo IX but import-only. All others are 4-door.
Norris Designs Evo was not a 3dr either.

Yep okay. I need a 3 door. Not going to be a 6 as ive got all of the bits for the 1.8. If the 1.8 doesnt live up to expectations then i can always buy a 6.
I think Ill buy the cage and store it for a while!
