From what I understand the earlier hdi's come without this , as I'm putting the gt2052s on I want to get rid of all the egr gubbins
Is it just the case the water distribution block is different ie one port blanked off and the pipes are a different route up top which don't pass through the cooler ?

Yep, sack it off, block both manifolds and join the pipes together.. 25mm copper pipe works fairly well if a little tight to fit in.
Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

Cool, I've got a purpose made joiner already lying about.
Both mani's will be blocked when the turbo goes on.
Was looking at the standard 306 egr solenoid and it's huge!
I had it in my mind there were 3 pipes going into the egr cooler heater thing, that right? Or just the 2.
I'm getting confused by the thermostat housing I think
For the connection around the back

might be worth a thought

Only two pipes on the coolers, one in and one out. The egr valve itself is pretty huge, i *think* it's for cooling so the diaphragm doesn't die - on modern cars it's usually on the inlet end of the egr pipe, or at least not mounted directly to the exhaust mani lol.
