I've listed tachos in the thread title too as the effect is the same, but i'm only interested in the shift light bit.
Firstly.. do XUD alternators have a W terminal or will I need to open it up and splice one of the internal wires?
Secondly, is there going to be a way to use a shift light alone based on the W terminal output?
Basically I want a shift light, but don't want to have to buy an aftermarket tacho to get one working. If needs be i'll buy a tacho and cut the light off/extend the wiring and hide the tacho somewhere behind the dash. But that's a faff compared to just wiring in a shift light.
I don't need to calibrate a tacho to RPM as I have a working one in the car, what I need is a way of adjusting a shift light so I can set when it comes on...
