Tacho doesn't like heat.

Morning all.

I've had a small issue with the car since I bought it, more of a niggle though hence why I haven't been too concerned about it.

From a cold start, the tacho works fine until the water temp hits ~80 at which point it bounces around for a bit then stops moving all together.

From what I can find on t'interweb, a lot of people suggest unplugging the sensor on the bottom of the block and giving it a jolly good clean.

I'm off to KrisB next week to get some other work done, and was hoping to try and fix this as well if it's a quick job.

I'm sure he knows the tacho system inside and out; I just thought I'd ask on here to see if any of yourselves have had this same issue where it cuts out once warmed up.

Any info will be appreciated as always,

Toby.

Mine does this as well Smile If it stops, once the revs pick up over 2.5k it tends to start working again.

Pull the plug off the thermostat housing and give it a clean, and check the cabels
