my black hdi project!

Hello all,

just started doing little bits to my 306 HDi so I thought I'd make a thread to keep everyone on here updated with how its going Smile

I'm still waiting for the insurance refund from my van policy so unfortunately I haven't driven it since I picked it up from DazzaHDI a few weeks ago! Sad Should be on the road by the start of next week though, but the wait is killing me!

Anyway enough waffle here's what I've been up to this week:

Always fancied one of these stickers, find them quite amusing Big Grin

Next was a sunstrip, people have mixed opinions on them but I think they're quite a nice touch especially when they match the (future) colour scheme of the car!

Had a bit of carbon wrap lying around so I thought I'd do my gearknob top in it, not the tidiest of jobs did it in 5 minutes with a hairdryer and stanley blade but it'll do for now! :p

Decided that the centre console could do with a change of colour so out came the sandpaper and spray can! Unfortunately I think I've sanded it too deep as even after 4 coats of gloss black it is still keyed up to f*ck! :/ Not to worry though

Also picked these up off eBay last night for £150 + £36 postage from the IOW, they are 16"x7J OZ Superturismos with decent tyres. Need boring out as they are Ford fitment but 4x108 so after that's done they ought to bolt straight on! Will update with pics once they are fitted Smile

Next on the list is a set of coilovers/uprated rear dampers! Thanks for viewing Smile

Not much has happened recently but I've acquired the following parts Smile Probably fit them once I can borrow my mate and his jack Big Grin
  • LED dash/centre console kit in blue
  • Megane splitter
  • LED H1 fog lamp bulbs
  • Various other bits like tint film for the fogs, stickers etc :p

Also picked this up from luke306rallye this afternoon, gave it a sanding and a light coating of Hammerite high temp paint. It's a DIY welded decat pipe and a Hoffman straight through centre section Smile Can't go wrong for £40!

Hopefully get a Sportex backbox onto there and get it on after the MOT Smile

Also been looking into economy remaps, I'll be having a black box monitoring my driving from the 31st July onwards so no point chasing performance. Read that some people have managed up to 65-70mpg combined which would be perfect.

Coilovers will have to wait as my rear beam is showing a nice camber to it so there goes my fund for those while I get a new one and a rebuild kit!
