Just noticed yesterday when I brake I get a loud bang/popping noise.
Today it's everytime I brake just about. But not as much when my brakes are warm. Seems to be from one side as well.
I think it could be my pads binding then releasing.
I know I'm getting ready for new disc and pads on front. But what do you think it could be? It's only when I brake no other time.

It's French?
Front or rear mate?
If its front and it happens when you brake, are you sure it's not a loose wishbone or something knocking?

Sounds like front to me. Not sure could possible be. All suspension feels fine. But going to check tomorrow. Hope it's going to be ok to drive home tonight.

Jack the car up. Hold the wheel at 9 and 3 and move side to side. Should be no play. Also hold at 12 and 6 and try again. Once again should be no play. If you hold it at 9 and 3 and move the wheel as if you was turning, you might get a tiny bit of play from the steering rack but shouldn't be huge amounts.

If its back, I would suggest checking the handbrake isn't binding. Might be someone has tightened it at some point just to get it to work better and failed.

I would have thought it will be a loose wishbone bone or something like that. I had a knocking after fitting my lower strut brace and that turned out to be that the guy who didnt hadnt done the bolts up tight enough so it was wobbling! D:

It's much worse than that just been out. Come to stop and loose my brakes all together. After finally stopping and pooing my self had a look when my dad come to pick me up. Pad on rear has drop out on road somewhere and other pad is backwards. :/ oh shit. Think clip has broke then slides come out. :/ lovely.
