Last weekend i did a very brave thing ... i bought myself a 4th 306.

A 1996 Ph1 Dturbo with 160k on the clock
and if im honest ... shes a keeperSmile

Everything iv been looking for in a 306 ... Ph1 ... 3 Door ... Sunroof ... Keypad start and its derv Smile

I paied £150 for her with no mot or tax

First job was a MOT ... and she flew through needing just one trackrod end Big Grin

Seccond was TAX ... Done ... can feel it in my wallet tho :\

And thats it ... a road legal 306 for just under £300 Big Grin

Only bodywork issue is the rear

Things to do so far:
Wire up my boost guage
Sort out a small ammount of rust on underside of car
Turn boost down as the previous owner said it was running 26psi which in my books is too much for a standard turbo
Sort out bodywork
Probably leave it at that tbh

And yes ... my sedan is up for sale and im back in love with 306's Big Grin

Impressive for £300 I must say!! Especially if it flew through mot needing just a TRE!

What turbo is it running? 26psi may be alright if its an early type k14/T2 turbo, and by the end of the car it probably is. Although this depends on your driving style.. whole can of worms turn it down Wink

What a result for the money youve paid!

Whats up with that grill though, is it a ph2/3 or a chopped up ph1? Tbh, i quite like the way it looks! Shame about that big scratch down the side though!

26psi DOES seem a little on the high side, but who knows until you stick a boost gauge on it and find out! Big Grin

Doubt itll be 26psi but will be interesting to say. Im going to say its running 21 :p

What's unreasonable about that?
My standard turbo peaks at around 32psi

Looks like a good buy
Is the grill just a standard one with the top slat removed?

I can say it is in fact running 26psi ... but by the time it reaches it im changing gear anyways ...

the grill has just had the top slit cut off to improve cooling etc as it tends to get quite hot due to still having the TMIC

Lots of plans made already Smile

better way to mod the grill but keep it standard just remove the horizontal part at the bottom of the top slat, greatly improved the flow on my Dturbo, looks good for the price, maybe a good polish may match the door in a bit with the rest of the car

Right so today after work i suck the car on the ramp and chaged my 2 very shot and very seized track rod ends and did the tracking ... one of the ends had about 6mm of play :/ .... while the wheels were off i noticed my pads were getting rather thin so orderd them up and changed them too

I then got home to get my alloys off my friend who was borrowing them while they were off the sedan ... only to find that one of the tyres was slick and all 4 were curbed to hell ... nun the less my current tyres were also shot so they had to go on so niped back to work, stuck on a part worn i had laying arround and fitted the alloys ... i thing they look miles better ... would have re spayed them ready for fcs but dident have time ... as you can see he has well and truly cubed the S**t outta them
