Hi. I'm newbie here, and about mechanic too.
I'm a 306 xsi owner, and i want to upgrade my engine at a low cost. So i think: "If my engine is a xu10 i could trade some parts for the GTI and have a good improve".
Somebody know if is it possible?

you basically need everything from the engine bay of a gti6.
engine, manifolds, wiring loom, all coolant hoses, radiator, downpipe, ecu.

you could put the manifolds on, possibly the head but surprisingly there arent many similar parts.

16v manifolds don't fit 8v head...
only similarities are crank and block casting.

In Brazil there's 6 running (max)
Tnx for all help fella.
I think it will be very hard to find a GTI or VTS full engine to sale.
Any other idea to up from the 122cv to around 180cv without a turbo?

Possible, probably.. but not sure what you'd do for management. Would probably be more expensive than shipping a GTI6 engine to you from the UK or elsewhere (if that's legally allowed where you are)

And none if it's possible import it.
Otherway, the thp is possible to find, but will cost 2x my car value ^^

I think the 1.6 THP is direct injection and has variable valve timing so aftermarket management would be difficult to find at best or very expensive. Then you'd have to get someone to actually do the mapping for you.

No problem. A 1.6 16v J4 engine may potentially be a better bet depending on how many aftermarket parts can be had where you are, there's tonnes of parts for them available over here and across europe. Standard though it probably makes about the same power or slightly less than your current engine but may be lighter
