Hmmm made a BooBoo on where to start so the measurements ran off not allowing me enough width for the sink/hob

so i had to start over OOPS........

anyway its coming good

one or two things i would do different next time
like
using only 1 full sheet of ply not two cut infill sections behind the kitchen

Having to make up fixing plate strips takes time!
but it is important as you dont want it all to move!

the unit on the bottom right is a voltage sensing relay switching a second relay to power a fridge at some point

run out of blue spades and i cant find the common earth block i bought so had to stop that Sad

went out when it was dark to check on the light output from the LEDS in the roof
I am glade i didn't just use 1 switch for all 6 instead 3 switch's of two

with 6 on they are bright!

found myself a computer UPS with a dead battery in the skip at work
set about modifying it, so it will now run off my leisure battery with no mains input and give me 240v at a push of a button

Free 3Amp inverter
free things are good Smile

think i deserve a cup of tea......
managed to cut, scribe the worktop to the van profile

then went on to marking the template onto the worktop then cutting out the hole for the hob/sink

then as if by magic with limited power tools a hole was born

then after much chopping of cupboards the hob fitted the hole

now onto that cup of tea!

Looking good, you got your rock n roll bed yet?

What's the plan for the rear doors, I noticed you haven't covered them? A pair with windows popped up on my Facebook last week.

no Ive not looked at the bed yet!
I have a few  choices
buy New one
buy second hand one
build one myself

the reason im not looking at them yet is.... i need to finish the units to give me a finished size, so i will know what size i have left for the bed

as for the doors they were going to be one of the last jobs as i was hoping to build storage into the doors void i also ran out of carpet Wink

dont think i want to put windows in the rear of the van as i already have enough light

What battery goes in that UPS? If that's what it's sitting on it's looks like a 12v12a? If so, I'm sure I have some used but good ones

some more electrical parts turned up today

2x 60amp fuse links
one for the Inverter supply line
one for the rear fuse board supply

2x 50amp Anderson connector plugs

for the Inverter supply

1x 25amp changover switch

this will enable me run the van from 240v hookup supply or 240v inverter supply,
the change over switch will be wired into the feed side of the 240v fuseboard

240v fuse board is in all wired with the change over switch,
Inverter in and wired it also works,
mains battery charger in and wired
2 extra 70Amp fuses fitted for added protection on the heavy current side,
all the rubber boots fitted to the Isolator nuts on the 16mm cables

had to order the 13amp face plates for the sockets as toolstation had no stock shame as the 240V wiring would of been finnished

finished the 240v wiring tested the inverter and really surprised it powered my 800w drill no problems

one of the last 240v sockets being fitted

under driverseat has the inverter and mains battery charger two heavey current isolators and two 60amp fuses

getting dark now shows up the lights

all the wiring left to do now is the 12v control panel and connect up the water pump up to the connector box under the sink
then onto shelving and cupboard doors!

I have just opened a can of worm with my Inverter install,
as some may know I am an electrician by trade,
with my inverter install the invertor is Earth free so if the van had an earth fault say on a microwave the van chassis would become live
this would not trip a rcd or rcbo as there is no earth path to set up an imballance in the live/neutral conductor

i have posed this to the smart arse in work who is going to dig through the current regulation regarding caravans and portable vehicle installs

to get over it i may have to set up a Neutral earth link on the inverter supply side this would let the RCD/rcbo's work as intended
but i need to check the invertor as it may destroy it if not designed to link battery 0v to neutral to chassis
