i am surprised there were cars that long ago cully

Passed test: 2nd sept 2002
First car: Mk2 ford fiesta 1.1
Paid: £800, one owner, mint condition so a little more pricey cause there was absolutely no rust.
Insurance: £500 per year with parents as named drivers (I was still main driver though) TPFT

second car: Skoda Favorit GLXie 1.3i (polo engine), paid £300, sold for £350 after ragging the hell out of it EVERYWHERE
insurance, don't remember but it was dirt cheap as it wasn't a "boy racers car" so to speak, even though it was mental to drive, quick and handled really well considering its reputation

Third car: Mk3 GSi astra,
paid £too much
insurance £earthshatteringly high, more than the car

Sold it to a collector due to it needing more work than I could do myself (welding of arches), think its still going around White one.
Given the choice between Niall and the sheep. I would choose the sheep!

Passed test; late 2002/2003
First car: below
Price: around £400 ish I think.
Insurance: Honestly can't remember!

First car, the only photo I have, back in late 2002 I think! 998, crashed it a few days after passing my test. Standard  Undecided
[Image: p4OyPtO.jpg]

Second car, 1275 Cooper SPI. I had many problems, cost me a fortune, sold about 6-8 months later
[Image: rAxgsfM.jpg]

Third car, 205 GTI on bodies. I'll stop here. As you can see, things started to go downhill...  Inlove  Rofl

Can't find any photos of it, but I used to drive a Micra 1.3GX - I thought that thing was fooking rapid, which to be fair, 78hp in something that weighed as much as a crisp packet, it went OK... I distinctly remember leaving Fooby in his GTi6 down a road I knew well LOL! I then found out about removing the air filter, which made it sound f*cking amazing - I thought I was the f*cking don.

My own first car was my black ph2 306 DTurbo - paid £1150 and it was in reality a f*cking shed - but my god did I love it.

Passed my test 30th April 2009 so 7 years tomorrow!
First car was a 106 1.5D Zest 3
£350 but needed an exhaust and brakes doing
Think insurance was around £700 while on provisional then shot up to double that once I passed. I may or may not have been the main driver Wink

Passed in 2010

Technically my first car I had legally on the road was a ph1 306 nad but it literally lasted 20 miles on the way home  before it threw a rod lmao returned to the seller who was nice enough to give my money back

My first car that lasted more than a day was a Peugeot 405 turboD estate in cherry red, paid £500 for it off an old chap who only used it to tow his motorbikes around.  Genuinely one of the tidiest I've seen until I put it through a metal fence about a year later lmao

Insurance was about £1500 iirc but that was worth it with how useful it was having a huge estate car when all my mates had 106s and that type of thing lol

Passed test: July 2010
First car: P-reg Renault Scenic, which was quickly foisted onto the mother in law and i bought a 306 HDi
Price: Was given the scenic by my grandma lol, 306 was £1,150
Insurance: About a £1200 iirc, although i'd already got two accidents on my record by that point. Blush

That was one solid car for £180! and it was on the road with in 48 hrs! Only needed a window screen and tax! ( mum and dad paid the tax for a surprise!)
my granddad used to call it a little banger haha, The day after I passed my test, we went to see my grand parents, my granddad said, if he has brought that car down on his own, I will kill him! he isnt qualified yet!! His response was, when I passed, ah well that's ok then!
I still remember my 1st ever drive with her, and the 1st ever drive on own. Also the 1st song on its radio too! my mum put a tape in the radio to see if it worked, and it did!
here is the song

Passed test at 23 in 2006.
First car was a classic mini from 197? That I kept on a farm for fun in 1997.
First road car was a mk1 G*lf 1.1 that never saw the road with me, was sold and replaced with a 96 1.1 106.
I payed £300 and had to change the engine a month later due to a newbie fluid error.
Insurance I believe was about £350 but I had a man on the inside when independent brokers were everywhere.

Passed test exactly 45 years ago 29/4/1971
First car - -- was an Austin A40 Cambridge

If you think the car was cheap - I was earning £3.00 a week as an RAF Apprentice  Rofl

Austin A40 Cambridge - 1200cc's of pulsating power with a worn out column change and a very handy starting handle LOL
