Just don't fit an aftermarket cat. They are all shite and will lose you power and torque.
Find an original or decat it. Also if it's not had a headgasket it's worth slightly advancing the cam timing. You can gain 12lbft without any downside.
Otherwise get decent tyres and keep it as standard as possible. They are great cars in standard form
