Which clutch cable on a hdi box in a 205 with pull clutch?
#1
Hi. Currently fitting an XUD in a 205 using a 306 hdi box with pull clutch. My gearbox has a bracket bolted on which points towards the front of the car, suggesting the cable I need is really long and sweeps around the front of the box. Ang ideas anyone? I also need the hdi box's clutch arm as mine is missing. Even a photo would help. Thanks...Luke.

Are you going to just be running a standard clutch? HDi 1s don't handle massive amount of torque over a period of time. Be better to go for the xud style

Put a 1.9 mi16 clutch in and user the standard 205 gti cable. It's a push type clutch, I've been running one on my td04 for ages

The hdi is a push type any way unless you've converted it, then you have a dturbo box

Ps there is no cable that sweeps around the front of the box?!

Thanks for the replies, but I've got a Paddle clutch in already and it's a pull type one. My box says hdi 2001 on it in scrapyard marker pen, but it came out of another modified car and had the metal bracket bolted on already.

Hi. The bracket sticks forwards towards the radiator and looks as if it anchors the outer casing of a clutch cable.

The bracket supports the inner cable part of the cable chap...then the outer part of the cable is supported by the moving arm itself....This is prob confusing you! So cable comes up over the back as normal, but instead of supporting the outer part and moving inner part on the arm (as with push clutch), its the other way round! Smile

that'll be an XUD turbo box then.

late zx turbo diesel or 16v cable can be made to work

or use push clutch bits and a 1.9 mi16 clutch
