Intro & 306 rocker cover
#1
Hi all,
David Floyd here from down under in Melbourne. I am all new to this forum stuff.
Great to hear there is a 306 family, well done to whoever set it up.
I have had my N3 1995 xsi virtually since new and it has been a great car, very reliable, still looks good and has the nice torquey SOHC 8 valve engine. It has just on 300,000 km on it and the rocker cover is leaking quite badly. It was recently replaced with a second hand one which was plastic welded at the seams but it still leaks onto the exhaust.
Any clues as to why? Any hope of buying a new one, I guess not. Any good aftermarket ones over there in the UK?
I am told it is a known problem with that engine.
[How good does the 306 still look in profile, they really nailed the lines. And how good is the steering feel - great]
Any advice welcome. Kind regards DF

Best bet will be to get an aftermarket one on there, not sure if they're still available new.
Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

You could remove the covers and clean the seals then reseal with some gasket weld/sealant very cheap simple ish job.
Or try buying a new pair are they the plastic ones ?
