Identify these front brakes..
#1
Excuse the disgusting rust/mud everywhere. Car I bought today which I'm breaking for parts, I noticed calipers/discs seems different to mine.

The car is a '98 Ph2 306 3 door D Turbo, exactly the same as mine. I realised their different when I found my 14" stock D Turbo wheels didn't fit. It seems they foul on centre bore, and are VERY close to fouling on caliper itself, so I guess caliper/discs are larger?

Ok awesome, I guess they'd be an upgrade to standard D Turbo fronts? Worth doing?

Nice, that's a bonus then! Is it just a case of swapping calipers/discs/pads? Any master cylinder differences? Brake line differences?

I'll get new discs & pads, don't worry!  Rofl Rofl

There 1 of the more rare calipers I have found on 306s. Had some on a 1.8 petrol ph3 I broke for bits back along.

Its pretty much just bolt on change, 1 think I do recommend is when the olds 1s are off run a tap through where the carriers bolts go to clean the threads up as some carriers are a bit thinner and the bolts tend to go pretty tight in the dirty threads.

Wouldn't worry to much about the master cylinder. I would say change it if fitting gti6 brakes but should be fine with these.

Your 14"s should fit on if they're 266 shouldn't they? Low spec HDis came with 14"s as standard and they don't have any clearance issues...

Edit: Scrap that, i'm thinking of steels and you're running harriers.

Swallows and Harriers do fit over 266s. Smile They're tight though...as in so tight if one of the little 'butterfly' springs pops out of a Lucas caliper it scores the rim and makes a hell of a noise. lol

I'd personally go for Lucas 266s if you can, easier to chose pads for and look better imo. lol Those Bosch 266s only seem to come on ph3 1.8s, all my other ph3s have been Lucas!

Yup, harriers indeed!

Fair play! Thought about it last night, to be honest I won't bother swapping brakes to mine. I'll remove & sell them, my current brakes are more than good enough for what I use my car for (daily/motorway, nothing heavy)

To get Harriers/normal wheels to fit, just so I can get the car to the scrapyard, remove discs & calipers, should be able to still bolt up a wheel, right? Just needs to physically roll enough so I can get it on my trailer & back off again

If you're still on 247s they aren't adequate for anything...main reason I mover to phase 3s haha.

As above though, any of the 14s, either steel or alloy DO fit, its just a fag paper of clearance lol.

Haha, ok fair enough!

Tried getting the harriers to fit for 20 mins or so yesterday, just couldn't do it. Seemed to foul on centre bore, couldn't get it to bolt up square

yep theyre 266s. I had them on my 1.8. THey were the biggest callipers that fitted under my fondmetal alloys. Had to fit 5mm spacers and grind down the outside. Tbh i thought they were absolute balls.
