The bills gotta get to almost £2500 before its 60% of the cars value.....£2100 + vat......

Not sure on parts prices but is it likely to be £1300 in bits?

I'd be buying that back if they did write it off and fix it myself...

If you're planning on keeping it ages it might be worth just getting them to fix it. If they do try to write it off you could try insisting over and over that you want that car fixed.

Or you could just pull some strings at the FBI HQ.

Are they Xenon headlights as well? They won't be cheap if so, knowing what mine would cost lol.

Thats harsh mate - it will be a pricey fix purely because of that front structural damage.

Also, i'll vulture some parts Wink

There's no structural damage though, it's all bolt on pieces!

Headlights are none xenon type ones, hence why I have purchased some black insert xenon ones for when it's back Smile

somehow related.

my friends navara "the animal one" was rear ended by a hyundai coupe and it smashed the underside of the boot up and made it a write off.

the hyundai only needed a bonnet and wings and drove off.

In a weird turn of events, insurance were doing what is apparently the 'norm' and stringing everything out and just generally taking the piss.

So when they finally came back to me with a settlement figure i told them to shove it and that i would keep the car and accept a smaller payout.

So basically minus my excess etc i ended up with a duffed megane and 2k to fix it with. Negotiated various deals etc (for all new genuine parts but from various suppliers to obtain the best discounts etc) and looks like i'll have a grand left over once its been repaired. Thats going straight in the rallye fund Wink

So now im sat here waiting for the cheque too clear, a mobile mechanic has f*cked my HDi leaving me without transport so my mate has incredibly kindly leant me his mk7 golf GTD DSG for a couple of weeks. So appreciative of the amazing friends i have fair play.

It got hungry and ate its own aux belt like so:

SO i left it with a mechanic over the weekend i was away rallying, he managed to smash the fuel filter housing then replace it with one filled with shit derv & brass filings which has messed it all up. i cant be bothered to spend anymore money or time on it so just waiting for the meg or clio 172 to be fixed now.

Picked up a hoard of bits for this last night including:

Uprated alloy intercooler
R26 black mask headlights with 8k HID conversion

I went from the standard R26 cooler to a forge one (looks identical to your new one) on the 6 and the difference was amazing!

The DCi175 has a larger core intercooler than the R26 as standard so this one may see me slightly better flow but it wont be anything major tbf, mostly will just look shiny behind the bumper Tongue

Also finally got a pic of the headlights Big Grin  very chuffed with these!

Finally pulled my finger out and decided enough was enough! so got the bumper sprayed up and got the megane all stripped back, repaired a few broken brackets etc and started bolting fresh bits back on Big Grin

I was fortunate enough to be owed a favour by someone who happens to be the best in the business locally for prep & spray work as you will see...

Haven't even taken any decent pics of the car since ive been back enjoying it but here's some potato spec shots from my ever popular snapchat...

The black mask lights have transformed how the front end looks in the daylight! Very very pleased with the results, also ordered some R26 shocks and some H&R 30mm springs for it which should suss the handling! Now just an engine mount too replace and she should be done... for now! Wink
