Cut a long story short, i crashed into the back of a 14 plate discovery with a massive towbar on yesterday morning! lol

Insurance is sorting it at a garage of my choosing, Already admitted liability as i don't want the hassle of waiting and having the car shipped off somewhere out of my reach and thankfully its not a write off Big Grin

Unfortunately what with the time of year i doubt i'll have it back untill new year so bought a £150 audi A4 tdi estate to run about in till its fixed lol

Piccys!

Damage solely from the towbar on the disco:

And the mystical £150 shed to run about in lmao

Main thing is im all ok and the cars repairable. Mostly gutted about losing my no claims! also this is the first incident i have had in 7 years of driving so actually shook me up quite a bit. Also my insurance excess is gonna munch into the 106 turbo build fund Sad  luckily i had just made a purchase for that which i will update now Wink

Towbars have to be solid, they don't 'crumple' like cars do!

That Audi looks a shed, I was wondering how you managed to get one for £150...then saw the pic... lol

Must be gutting though, glad you seem to have it all under control and getting sorted though. Smile

Is anything actually wrong with the audi other than a flat tyre?

Saw the accident on FB, not good! Main thing is you're okay.

I probably wouldn't remap it if it needs a clutch lol... DMF is probably due as well.

But at just £45 for a map, it's worth doing anyway lol. lol

To be fair, even if you gave it a new clutch and a door mechanism or whatever the problem is when you pull the doorcard off it'd then be a very cheap, working daily hack.

You can usually protect no claims for like a tenner! Mine are protected just in case.

well, there's no chassis/body damage, and guessing you're handy with the spanners, you'll save the £750 immediately. Smile

The bumper alone costs more than my excess. no way i could do it without selling a kidney on the black market unfortunately.

If they write it off i know i'll never find another DCi the spec of this one so would have to downgrade too an R26.

undamaged value about 4k i would imagine? the DCi 175's hold good money and its a struggle to find one under 4k thats done under 100k miles
