Project Cab
#1
Hi,

Bought a 306 Cab that needs a little bit of work to get back on the road.

Front Tyres
Exhaust
MOT/Tax

when i bought the car the ad advised roof disconnected so didnt pay to much attention, when i got it back and looked further in to it he should have said roof mechanicals missing......

worked out a price list to get all the bits i needed to get it to a state where i am happy, decided that best route would be to buy another fixer upper cab and swap the bits over, scarp and then reduce my outlay.

bought a second cab, when it landed on the driveway.

i had a look in the boot.

all new door seals and what appears to be the rare transeverse aero seal thing happy days as i know they cost a penny. and the one i am keeping it has all gone aero like.

Exhaust on the junker is new so that is good wheels are rubbish so can go.

Roof is better than mine so going to swap that over as well as all the roof mechancials.

leather interior has already begun to migrate, while i am swapping them over i will remove the connectors and wire them in properly to ensure that the airbag fault doesn't surface.

will update with pics and progress shortly.

Regards.

Pictures to follow soon, once it has been cleaned.

popped it in for its mot on Saturday after doing a number of jobs.

swapped over the Leather interior completely form the Junker, and fixed the airbag issue, i ended up removing all the connectors and soldering them in place saves hassle in the long run, looks so much better without the cloth interior.

removed half the equine yard that was in it, from when i picked it up.

exhaust swapped over as half the back box had rotted away.

what i was expecting it to fail on it didn't

however

Washer jet not working (now fixed swapped it over)
Side repeater not working (now fixed swapped them over)
hand brake cable lose underneath. Need to take the clip that holds it in place from the junker and secure it
Headlamp beam to high
nearside outer CV boot needs replacing

then it is good to go.

so all in all not to bad really considering.

goes in on wednesday to have the work done and re-test then i can finally enjoy the car.

then set about finding a decent set of wheels and swap the roof over

oh and fix a bit of lacquer peel on the front nearside wing.
