Whats it worth - Phase 2 GTi
#1
Hi

So I have had my GTi for just over a year. Its been fun but I purchased it primarily as a second car to help with the nursery run.

Now my wife is on maternity leave for the next one I do not need the car anymore. Therefore I have decided to sell it rather than have it sit outside not being used.

Its a R Reg Nile Blue GTi
circa 135,000 miles
Had the cambelt, new tensioner and waterpump about a year ago.
New rear tyres about 200 miles ago (I had intended to keep it). 4-5mm on the fronts
Interior has no tears but is getting thin on the bolsters
Aircon works
Sunroof works
New window reg on drivers side
All electrics work
MOT until 30/07
Bodywork in OK condition, bumper has some paint flake and odd carpark dink
No rust
Rear beam has no camber

Bad points
Banging on rear over bumps (I think it needs new beam mounts)
Brakes starting to get low but no advisories on last MOT

Is it worth trying ebay or will this just open me up to chancers?

Thanks

Selling anything anywhere opens you up to chancers, there's two options on that score: shut up and put up or don't sell it lol. From the description i'd guess about £1000.

Why not put it on autotrader then to prevent the hassle of timewasters? I'd never ebay my car

That really won't help, last time we listed on autotrader every 4 out of 5 callers were foreigners offering £300 (it was advertised for £1200) or wanting you to deliver it to the isle of skye at 11pm tonight where you would meet a friend of theirs...

That's my experience of selling on ebay lol
I have had nothing but great results from autotrader, car sells within 2 weeks max and get 90% serious callers.

Don't go near Gumtree then. I'm sure it was set up for the foreigners and the illiterate.

Seems totally legit... Don't see what the problem is Popcorn

Would you take £200 and drive it to be Isle of Wight tonight. You'll meet my cousin, maybe my brother. Not sure which is which...

But as most say. Id say asking for £1100 wouldn't be unreasonable with the option for people to negotiate a price.
