My steering wheel is worn well past its use by date lol just wondering, anyone fitted a 106 steering wheel? Does it fit straight on and does airbag work as a straight fit?

No idea. You can pick up steering wheels cheap anyway. I've got a spare for mine and a 205 one
On a break from 306oc for personal reasons. If anyone needs or wants me most of you have my number and or facebook messenger

I know but I just fancy somthing a little different you know. Ideally want to keep the airbag and not have to fork out for a boss on top. I'd love a 205 wheel but I dont know if it'll go with my car.....hmm. I'm pretty sure the 106 wheel is a straight fit but not sure about the airbag. I know the early 206 gti ones are a straight fit including airbag.

My 106 wheel doesn't fit my 306 steering column (I've tried), assuming they're all the same across similar models I think you're out of luck

205 wheels look really good on them imo.

Ah well. Looks like it's going to be an oem 306 wheel, 206 gti (early), 205 or an aftermarket dished suede but there's the extra cost of the boss so we shall see

I've been looking and yeah apparently the 309 wheel is sturdier that the 205 hmmm decisions. You got any pictures of the steering wheel on the car Mr Cheese?

Would I be right in thinking this is a later model 206 wheel that won't fit? It's from a 2002 model.

I think all 206 steering wheels fit but its the airbag wiring that's the issue.

From other threads I've read, the earlier non multiplex ones up to about 2002 are a straight fit with the same airbag connection. The later ones you have to cut the cowling and yeah the wiring for the airbag is a bitch and somewhere I think I read the splines are slightly different I think........hence asking if I'm right thinking this is a later one (multiplex)
