Boot build ideas
#1
I have a sub and amp but it's in a box. I'd rather have it as flush with the side as possible so I can utilise the boot. Also would like it quick release where I could literally unblock a couple of connectors and it can be taken out. Any ideas?

Sounds like you're after something very similar to what I have in my hatch.

The sub and amp are both housed in a custom made box that sits on the nearside of the boot and is shaped so that it fits flush to the near side of the boot, against the seat back and the rear of the boot, leaving you most of the boot free and looking almost OE. The power/earth/switch are on a single easily disconnectable plug about a foot from the amp, and the two RCA's can be disconnected in the same way, meaning the whole thing can be removed in less than a minute with no tools.

I don't have any pictures to hand unfortunately, which isn't very helpful I appreciate...

Audi A3 I saw in the breakers the other day had a Bose sub tucked up behind the rear wheel arch. Not sure how the hatch is but loads of room in the rear wheel wells for building stuff in.

I have a small 10" sub box that moulds to the passenger side arch in the hatch. Its sitting in my shed doing nothing. This is for an estate though isnt it?

Yeh it tucks in the gap behind the wheel arch. What you really want is an install that is completely flush. Someone had an amazing one on here for sale a few months ago!

I'm being lazy installing some mdf on the sides and mount amps to them and then the sub i use banana plugs anyway so that will be easy to remove.

Do you have an estate or hatch now lol
Don't worry about what I'm doing, I want you to worry about what you're doing

I almost bought one of these made by Auto Acoustics, is that the same as yours?

My man concern being that my daughters buggy still has to fit in the boot afterwards...and I have no amp...

There was a 306 auto accoustic one for sale on ebay a little while ago.
Not sure if they even make them anymore as they were starting to do more home cinema stuff.
