Have fun changing the oil filter lol

Sorry, I've done some research and I like the look of the lower brace. I do already have a rear brace which I got confused with an upper brace! Rolleyes

The oil filter location is certainly not the most thoughtful piece of design by the Japanese - I'd forgotten about the fun that was doing a service and needing to be double-jointed to remove the filter lol

If you haven't already, check the rear sills and quarters for rot - MX5's are notorious for going there thanks to another questionable bit of design, and I remember when I was looking for mine a few years back that it was getting hard to find early cars that weren't going there. They rot from the inside out, so by the time you start to see bubbling on the outside it's already in a bad way - oh how I laugh at the "slight surface rust" claims on many an eBay advert...

Hopefully my silly girl arms will help with the oil filer removal!?

The Mexy had rust as it was sitting for about a year but it was all removed and welded up before it was painted Smile
One good thing about 306's which I've taken for granted over the years is the lack of rust!

If the grot has already been sorted out then that's a huge bonus - a generous application of waxoyl or similar into the sills would be a wise precaution to keep the grot at bay in future would be a good move if you're planning on keeping it long term.

I believe the chap covered it in some kind of rust preventative... I will check though!

A V70... jesus christ? Are you like 60 or something? What compelled you to get one of those?

Jesus christ? No, it's still me.

I'm compelled by the fact I turned 60 last week. Plus I love the 2.5t engine.

Convertables are cool if you can get passed them leaking, no one can honestly say they have had 1 that doesn't leak, looks very tidy though.

I can honestly say that mine didn't/hasn't leaked... I was waiting for it to every time it rained but it's a great hood so it was bone dry Smile
