play music with phone through red/white connectors on headunit?
#1
i don't have a aux point on my head unit. if I get the right leads can it be done with the red/white points on the back of the headunit or is that just for a sub/amp??

Those are output connectors, you need an input one for that surely.

Correct, however you can put the phono to aux leads into an amp, bit of a pita but it does work.

I would go for Alpine personally, but it's up to you. I don't rate JVC though

I had a JVC stereo before my Kenwood and it was bloody terrible! Bought my Kenwood which i know a few on here have and rate very high. Its a few years old now but great.
