Check ive done my brakes right.

Ok people. I swapped from my hdi brakes to gti6 ones and just want to check a few things...

Wheel off
crack off brake line
2 calliper bolts out
calliper and discs off
new discs on
new calliper on and brake line on.
tighten it all up.
Then bleed.

I bled the drivers side first and then the passenger side. Working my way closer to the pump which is correct?

Pedal has a bit more travel and is a bit spongey which is due to not having the bigger gti6 master cylinder?

and there is a 1mm gap between the brake lines and the calliper. Is that normal? It would do up and tighter and isnt leaking fluid so i presume its all good.

Just wanted to double check as it was my first time with brakes etc.

Spongey will be due to air in system still

Did you bleed the rears aswell??

yeah I would do the lot (bleeding)

it will also feel a bit soft/sprongy until the new pads/discs wear into each other.

did you clean the hub face off before fitting the new discs????
Wishes for more power...

just took the old discs off and new ones on. I didnt bleed the rears. I need to swap those callipers over soon as well. After driving over 500 miles since fitting them they definitely work as im still alive!
