Bosch set up - advice required for storage

I'm looking at getting a Bosch set up for the XUD, what do I need to do this from a Lucas and is there anything I need to ask/check as I've never bought one before

Ok, so is the set up you mentioned on another thread full of fuel?

The fuel inlet for the bosch would be handy aswell, piece of tube that goes round the back of the pump that you clamp your hose onto.

I noticed mine was quieter with the bosch than lucus on my old d turbo, Not sure about mpg tho cos soon as i put it on, i put veg oil in but you will be saving money on veg oil if your gonna run it

Noisy as f*ck if you use lucas injectors, I paid about 100 for my first setup and 80 total for one i bought other day! Shouldnt be to bad!

It isn't expensive really £30 for Bosch pump lines and injectors about £10 (looms scrap yard prices) cambelt Kit was £40 and And about £15 for water pump. Then bit of fuel pipe £5 max all you need for £100, if your planning on running veg oil you will soon make your money back depending on how many miles you do

What a complete kit inc everything to replace it, pulley and woodruff key etc??

Wanna run it on veg due to fuel prices or maybe scrap it lol

Ha ha I can't be bothered with fast cars etc, if I wanted a fast car I'd get a Perv turbo, just happy chugging along in my derv thinking about the money I'm saving...so opposite of Jeremy Clarkson

Nah it wouldn't. VW's have used 10mm pumps on their NADs, no reason why an 11mm would drown a DT. You don't HAVE to run full fuelling on them. Yeah you'll get more off boost smoke but control that with your right foot. Simple.

Plus you have the potential for epical power as and when you find a blower you want.

I'm not sure about the MPG thing, but every XUD I've had with a Bosch has been slightly better on fuel, although that's always been veg oil. Maybe it's veg oil that gives better MPG?

No veg gives worse fuel economy, but because its so much cheaper to buy, it gives you better pence per litre

Thing is I've measured it mate, 450 to a tank on derv, 470-480 on veg? A few tanks have given that result with pretty much the same driving...

depends hugely on what diesel used and what type of veg used.

Shell Fuelsave vs KTC Cooking oil (soya crap) with 10% Shell Fuelsave. Loads more power on derv though, wish Costco still did rapeseed.

Definately a power difference in the higher RPM's.

If you had a more suitable spooler like a VNT or GT then I can't imagine there being an awful lot of difference?

There is, complete lack of top end, spools quickly but completely flattens off from 3.5k+

This, that's exactly my problem. A little derv improves it, but it's still not there...
