I think the reason this is though, is because you are working on a 2 ecu car.

i.e. you are mapping the LPG ecu to the petrol engine, which has the original running at the same time with injector emulators and whatnot.

So the original petrol ecu isnt being remapped. Rather a piggy back ecu that feeds information to it.
