Chris_90 NEW HDi Project :) Possible xud swap Hmmm??

So picked car up off ash last night

[Image: 306red2_zps2837f668.jpg][/URL]

My nephew poseing next to it.

Was way to low on the front so got on to putting my gmax shocks and 30mm springs on , still low'ish but loads more piratical also put my cyclones on

So problems so far found a tuneing box on it, so that come off straight away wasnt turned on but defo dont want any of that shit on it! Found a patch that needs welding under neath looks like some one jacked it up and cracked under seal and its rusted over time. hand brake cable needs cliping up, the bottom boost pipe needs sorting as its very close to the floor, central locking to sort, need to get a passenger side arch gaurd. all simple easy fixes.

Other than that drives great so much more refined than the old d turbo alot quieter, exhaust sounds well looks like 2.5/2.75 inch pipe, interior is mint not a rip in site.

All in all im quite happy with it all tho doesn't feel as fast as the d turbo does not sure if its because of the longer gearing or im just not used to it yet.

Comments welcome :-D

D turbo helping the hdi in to life......

Very tempted on doing an xud swap in to the hdi shell.... But un sure what to do tbh really not a fan of hdi electrics or not being able to run veg oil...... So gonna decide on what to do in next few months if to sell this or do the swap

As said on Instagram, you have everything for the dturbo conversion you need right there!
100% worth it, phase 3 comforts with an xud heart.
I'm having to source all of the parts individually for the conversion, ballache, but worth it

Yer I'm tempted to do it but just the fact of d turbo is on 172,000miles so it's getting on a bit but it runs bang on pulls great, just worrys me a bit

Just strip her down, full rebuild, hdi rods while you're there, lovely job!

id say just do the swap, all the xud benefits then once its all done and your 170k engine does let go, its as simple as dropping a new lump in again but minus all the work in the first place. like dec said, you have everything you need already. really like the ride height ntw, looks spot on

Just remember the hdi block is heavier so when you do the swap it will raise up a tad

But then I would have 2 cars both in bits couldn't do that as would always need at least one car running

This is what I was thinking, cos xud had cambelt, full service etc so no need to spend just Change clutch and drop it in hdi and best of both worlds.

Didn't no that shouldnt make a big difference tho tbh could do with lifting a tiny bit as scraped on a bumps a couple of times
