Just been into Halfords for brake pads and brake fluid for putting my car back to standard. Prices on the shelf were £30.99 for the pads and £12.49 for brake fluid, £43.48 total.
Paid at the till with my trade card and it came up as £13.42 for the pads and £5.34 on the fluid, total £18.76

Thats a saving of £24.72 or almost 60% off

Only reason I shop at Halfords these days. TRADE CARD FTW

I would love a trade card and I would be more than willing to blag one if I had the correct papers. Theoretically I could use the business card of any garage and just give a made up name. Halfords have started clamping down now, I went back to return some sockets a couple of weeks ago at two different stores and both times in both stores they called the manager to authorise it and dragged me through all my details (gave them false ones of course!) and generally messed me about after having a good look over the sockets. I don't know if they are clamping down on people registering for trade cards as well.

Flynn I think it depends on individual Halfords, you obviously got 2 strict ones, other people recently have just been and blagged a trade card with a home made business card.
Niall and Matt all you need is a handfull of cheap business cards (ebay) saying you have your own mechanics business and you can get a trade card. See link below.

I'm pretty sure a member on here (or definitely on pug306) works at Halfords and has said they're willing to sort people out with trade cards if needed. Can't remember who though.
I love my trade card though, went in there during the week to get a bulb for someone from work, would have cost them £5.50 but they only had to pay £1.80 hock:

For consumables and those "little bits" that seem to add up to a million pounds, they're very good. Screen wash, jubilee clips, that sort of stuff. But the discount varies for everything... That stuff has the greatest discount, batteries are like 40% off for Halfords own, tools are 20% and paint is 10% I think. Not sure on the filters etc, I'd say around 40-50% for Halfords own again (which is always where the biggest discount is).
