My fiancé broke up with me and gave me the ring back...im going to sell the ring this weekend and then treat myself to some lows.

any one recommend some for the d tub at around £100-£130?

Cheap ebay ones, if the ring is not worth much.

Gaz GHA, or something similar.

Gaz Gold's.

Some people like the D2 coilovers.

Yeah I did read his first post but mark gave some overbudget suggestions so I thought I'd make another one too plus it may be of interest to those who do have that budget

BenJay, are you doing it for looks or for handling?

If you're going for handling, on your budget look at Bilstein B6s(?) and lowering springs...

If you're going for lows, get some Racelands/Ta Technix.

If your budget will permit, go for Gaz GHA's. Some don't rate them at all; I can't see why, I've had a set on my previous '6, and it just made it SO grippy in the corners. Literally, silly speeds could be achieved!
BUT they're £430-odd new, so a lot over your budget.

I would have another think about what you're trying to achieve with the car, and maybe save a little more up before taking the plunge... Smile

a bit of both really.

I wont mind a 30-40mm drop but then a handling improvment would be good too.

IMO if you're only planning on a 30-40mm drop the go for a springs and shocks setup rather than coilovers, you'll get better handling and a better ride

^As above. The budget will get you a very highly reputed set-up in the Bilsteins, and will achieve both your goals Smile

Can't look at that link in work but it would be best to get ones matched for your car, different engines are different weights so it will mess up the spring rates if you have say springs meant for a 1.8 for your DT

Bilsteins & Eibach -40mm spings is supposedly the best handling package on a budget...

Now my thoughts are that the damping settings will be fine-tuned to the weight of the engine, so you will need to get the specific dampers for your car. Then again though, I doubt it'll make a massive difference... It'll still be an improvement over stock put it that way! Smile
