D turbo Coilys - Ben Jay - 28-05-2012 My fiancé broke up with me and gave me the ring back...im going to sell the ring this weekend and then treat myself to some lows. any one recommend some for the d tub at around £100-£130? Re: D turbo Coilys - Pompey306mark - 28-05-2012 Cheap ebay ones, if the ring is not worth much. Gaz GHA, or something similar. Gaz Gold's. Some people like the D2 coilovers. Re: D turbo Coilys - mark_airey - 28-05-2012 Well for that budget your getting cheap ebay ones, ta technix or racelands........... Re: D turbo Coilys - Ben Jay - 28-05-2012 mark_airey Wrote:Well for that budget your getting cheap ebay ones, ta technix or racelands........... i didnt realise how much they were...might have to put off for a while and see if some one sticks up some on here! Re: D turbo Coilys - 4WayDiablo - 28-05-2012 There is a guy on Facebook selling some gas gold cookies "on 0 miles" for £450 Re: D turbo Coilys - mark_airey - 28-05-2012 4WayDiablo Wrote:There is a guy on Facebook selling some gas gold cookies "on 0 miles" for £450 They better be tasty cookies for that......................... but seriously, did you read the first post at all?? thats £300 over his budget! Re: D turbo Coilys - Pompey306mark - 28-05-2012 Thats the gu off the 6 forum selling them. Re: D turbo Coilys - Ben Jay - 28-05-2012 wait hold the phone....gold cookies! for that cheap! shut up and take my money! Re: D turbo Coilys - 4WayDiablo - 28-05-2012 Haha stupid auto correct lol Yeah I did read his first post but mark gave some overbudget suggestions so I thought I'd make another one too plus it may be of interest to those who do have that budget Re: D turbo Coilys - Ed Doe - 28-05-2012 BenJay, are you doing it for looks or for handling? If you're going for handling, on your budget look at Bilstein B6s(?) and lowering springs... If you're going for lows, get some Racelands/Ta Technix. If your budget will permit, go for Gaz GHA's. Some don't rate them at all; I can't see why, I've had a set on my previous '6, and it just made it SO grippy in the corners. Literally, silly speeds could be achieved! BUT they're £430-odd new, so a lot over your budget. I would have another think about what you're trying to achieve with the car, and maybe save a little more up before taking the plunge... Re: D turbo Coilys - Ben Jay - 28-05-2012 a bit of both really. I wont mind a 30-40mm drop but then a handling improvment would be good too. Re: D turbo Coilys - Midnightclub - 28-05-2012 IMO if you're only planning on a 30-40mm drop the go for a springs and shocks setup rather than coilovers, you'll get better handling and a better ride Re: D turbo Coilys - Ed Doe - 28-05-2012 ^As above. The budget will get you a very highly reputed set-up in the Bilsteins, and will achieve both your goals Re: D turbo Coilys - Ben Jay - 28-05-2012 Ed Doe Wrote:^As above. The budget will get you a very highly reputed set-up in the Bilsteins, and will achieve both your goals Sounds like a plan then! thanks for you help chaps! so if were to go for these http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?rt=nc&Model=306&_nkw=306%20Bilstein&_dmpt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&_fln=1&_ssov=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m1539 would they need to be d turbo specific? Re: D turbo Coilys - Midnightclub - 28-05-2012 Can't look at that link in work but it would be best to get ones matched for your car, different engines are different weights so it will mess up the spring rates if you have say springs meant for a 1.8 for your DT Re: D turbo Coilys - 4WayDiablo - 28-05-2012 That link is for a generic search for "306 bilstein" Re: D turbo Coilys - Ben Jay - 28-05-2012 4WayDiablo Wrote:That link is for a generic search for "306 bilstein" comes up with the right stuff though 8-) Re: D turbo Coilys - scottbmxer - 28-05-2012 Im looking at doing the same soon and was thinkin about getting these Front Struts - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAIR-PEUGEOT- ... 1688wt_820 with these 40mm Springs - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-306-1 ... 2001wt_825 and these for the Rear - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAIR-PEUGEOT- ... 1688wt_820 Re: D turbo Coilys - 4WayDiablo - 28-05-2012 id recommend some spax lowering springs, they handle very well on my car Re: D turbo Coilys - puglove - 28-05-2012 I recomend Pi they are very good also, i had them on my 6 now on my mrs xsi and i cant fault them also have these on my Dt and for the monies i cant believe how good they really hold the road and they are 50mm win win http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-306-2 ... 2011wt_922 are much better than ebay coilies Re: D turbo Coilys - scottbmxer - 29-05-2012 Same link as I posted puglove! But was lookin at 40mm for dt puglove Wrote:I recomend Pi they are very good also, i had them on my 6 now on my mrs xsi and i cant fault them Re: D turbo Coilys - Ed Doe - 29-05-2012 Bilsteins & Eibach -40mm spings is supposedly the best handling package on a budget... Now my thoughts are that the damping settings will be fine-tuned to the weight of the engine, so you will need to get the specific dampers for your car. Then again though, I doubt it'll make a massive difference... It'll still be an improvement over stock put it that way! Re: D turbo Coilys - mark_airey - 29-05-2012 I have a funny feeling that none of this thread is relevant anymore Re: D turbo Coilys - Ben Jay - 29-05-2012 mark_airey Wrote:I have a funny feeling that none of this thread is relevant anymore well it could be...if i find another d turbo |
