Go bigger and Rev harder or just buy a correctly well set up Hybrid?

Just a thought (forgive me if it's soo blindingly impractical...) but is there a possibility that rods from another engine outside of the psa range could be made to fit, that just happen to be stronger?
Either way, nice one JP for sorting this. Should make way for a new generation of tasty XUDs soon i hope I'm still wavering about over going e60 530d next year so it would be a stupid waste of money if i did (or wasted opportunity if i dont and keep the dturb as then i'd want to break the 200bhp barrier and not be karking it everytime i go keeerazy on the loud pedal, getting fed up of it breaking down already and i've not even touched a big turbo) Do you reckon you would be able to sort more batches in future JP, all being well with these? Or do you see it as a one off deal? Dturbo GT2259s build thread; http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-3692.html Daily driver; 330d Msport (doesn't blow up!)

Don't see why not. I've established a pretty goof relationship with the company. Turns out the owner is a friend of a friend.
All I'll say is mine will be in this batch, so im likely to work harder to get the costs uber low....

hock: if this got pushed into feb somehow, then i would be so tempted as my exam results come out then and all being good, £385 is awesome!
I guess fueling and lifting the head are the next major issues for the xud after these rods? Dturbo GT2259s build thread; http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-3692.html Daily driver; 330d Msport (doesn't blow up!)

That price is propper tempting, are they going to be using dw or xud bearing shells?
Will have to work out when and how much I'm getting paid in jan and see if I can afford a set.
19-12-2011, 07:36 PM
They will be using XUD shells... total stock XUD fitment.

Payday is the 21st Jan for me, and if I can get the hours I'll put my name down.
19-12-2011, 08:18 PM
OK. Well 21st Jan will be RIGHT on the limit of how late we can leave this, and I believe Padge wants to get moving on this (as do I.)
If you can get half the money together before then you will be fine as the rest won't need to be paid until mid / late Feb. JP

Schweet! Cant believe how much people bitched about the price on .net >.> I was quite happy to fork over the £700 for a set before this group buy came about. Just glad you listened to me when I suggested it at the crimbo meet
