well the 10 days we have been away To the Lake District in the Van makes the effort in building it all worth while!
Saturday to Monday a total of 1000 Miles round trip
only hitch being loose bolts on the sliding door top roller, easy fix
we site hopped 4 sites 2 days at each and a final day on the last site with pool sauna and a jucuzzi
the first site was prebooked due to being the weekend but the rest was just turn up and ask or local recommendations.
the van is not set up for wild camping so we looked for toilets and showers at a minimum in a site, park 1 and 5 had electric hookup but we didnt need it
1, Park foot caravan and camping site near Pooley Bridge
nice clean site, busy due to the weekend and scottish kids having broken up from school
2, Low Wray campsite National trust near Ambleside
minimal facility's but secluded pitches amonsked trees and pools
3, Church Stile Farm, Nether Wasdale
nice clean farm site, stunning views, no phone or TV reception
4, Scotgate Holiday Park, Braithwaite
clean facilitys, take your money jam as-many on the field as they can
5, Holgates Holiday park, Silverdale
Luxury site
out of all of them site 2 at Low Wray was my favourite even though it had only a toilet shower block, so big thumbs up to the National trust it was also the cheapest for the 2 nights
van work flawlessly solar was more than capable of keeping to cool-box going and charging the batteries during daylight hours even managed to get tv reception to watch the football
