I haven't been on the forum for a fair while now, however I haven't been away from 306's! I'm now on the 11th. I've recently got rid of 2 gti6's as they've become 'boring'. I picked up an original phase 2 Nile d turbo as an MOT failure for £150, 150k miles, every MOT certificate from new, original receipt of sale etc etc fairly happy with it overall, I've had it for 3 weeks now and I've already done a fair amount to it, fitted phase 3 front and rear bumpers, phase 3 headlights, colour coded mirror caps, decat along with a full powerflow system, bilstein front shocks with 30mm eibach springs, gti6 rear beam, news discs and pads all around along with new cables. Also replaced the rear brake pipes. I also acquired a Bosch pump, gov modded it, ground the lda pin and fitted it last weekend doing the cambelt and waterpump and the same time plus the aux belt. I'm off to pick up a T2/T25 hybrid this weekend, yes there's loads better out there but this should give me a reliable 150+bhp which I'd be more than happy with. A few pictures of how it stands currently.
Next plan is to fit the turbo, MBC, anti roll bar links, lower arms and a powerflex lower engine mount.

Cheers! There's something about them that always draws me back, I think it's just the simplicity of tuning them easily yourself.. I shall give it a polish sooner or later

Went to collect the turbo this afternoon and fitted immediately on arrival home of course [emoji851] only driven around the yard in 1st/2nd, seems like its going to pull well, manual boost controller fitted too.

I believe it's based on a gt1749vb sir, in a T2/T25 housing.

Turbo is now fitted and car has a fresh 12 months MOT and is on the road, boosting well at 26psi, however the 9mm seems to be maxxed out and on boost its completly clean, going to have a play this afternoon.

I figured out that I was only getting half throttle (my fault for not checking when I fitted the Bosch) now achieving full throttle not only did it transform how it drives but also meant it was making nearly 35psi which is not what I wanted. Discovered the wastegate was seized closed, again my fault for being to excited and not checking when I fitted the turbo. Now working as it should it's peaking around 27 and dropping back off to 25 which is what I was aiming for. I'll hopefully get the car on a rolling road next week and report back with the results [emoji51]

Cheers Matt [emoji851] hmm comparing it to my 6's I'd say probably a tad slower? Or around the same. It's hard to say really. Have to get them side by side one day. [emoji41]

Good stuff Mitch. Looks like you're making it into a tidy machine. Nice to see a bit of love out there still for the xud, they seem to have died off a lot now these days which is a shame.

Did a spot of snow ploughing today, turned out to be rather useless in the snow, I guess 195's don't help. Swapped to my 206 hdi van, which seems to go anywhere.
