Hi guys looking at an engine conversion for my zx, what would be involved in getting the wiring to work from the petrol engine, obviously I'd need the engine loom an unlocked ecu, the intank lift pump, but would it be a simple plug and play with the loom or is it Alot more complicated than that?

zx loom does not split at all at any point, one long piece from bulkhead to fuse box, so I doubt you have the right connectors for plug and play
you'll need to wire it in using a gti6 donor loom i'd think

Doesn't sound to bad assuming I can find the 2 correct wiring diagrams for both cars. Food for thought found a decent priced gti6 engine fitting it should be easy enough it's the wiring that I might find difficult.

the haynes workshop manual for the zx is pretty good for the wiring, and there's loads of info on fitting gti6 engines into 205's that would give you the information you need for that side of it.

Ok I'll have a look in to it, would I have to change bulbs in clocks so the different warning lights come on? Maybe change fuses round in the fues box to operate the different things?

more than likely you will need a set of petrol instruments, no idea if the wiring would be there in the fusebox, mine was a 16v already.
