Matts wagon

Right so I thought it was about time I got a project thread up for this.
Started off with one very iffy swap.
I swapped my BMW e46 for this 306 estate
It came with xxr wheels, lows and exhaust

[Image: 922B72AF-1737-47C3-B106-F34B904062AC.jpg]

[Image: 1D66EBCC-B686-48E7-864E-A20BF69D55FE.jpg]

[Image: 73BA3946-25B9-49C2-8FFB-D61537916B90.jpg]

So the guy sent me pictures, I loved it straight away. Ended up with it the same night. Had several keys, 1 that opens the car but doesn't start it, one that opens the doors and starts it, and then another that only opens doors

[Image: D46D6C2C-B64E-43B6-B056-A1BE55963D70.jpg]

[Image: 37D70ACA-19C7-442F-91F1-1A31B11CA056.jpg]

So after picking it up, frame banging it onto the ferry, my opinion is low filthy and scrapes f*cking everything

[Image: 34384684-4BE8-4D62-ACE0-DD0033197017.jpg]

So first things first, I swapped the black masks and badge from the rallye, made it look a little nicer. I bent the dent back out using the scissor jack, don't care what it looks like as it will be replaced sometime.

[Image: F252AB02-01F0-4CE9-853A-6B3CF9CCDCE0.jpg]

Next up was changing the steering wheel over from the gross 4 spoke leather, to the momo race wheel, and swapped out the shitty gearknob for something aftermarket I got for free

[Image: 7040C14A-A550-4806-A86C-630775597F0E.jpg]

[Image: 932727AD-968E-4FB6-8C2B-3D889A8FC563.jpg]

Then off came the bonnet, gave the bay a clean, and chucked on my mates smooth bonnet. Not the best of condition but looks better than the lacquer peel

[Image: 74B3D3E7-75A7-4A6B-8C1F-AC1D673426FC.jpg]

Smooth bonnet means one thing right, smooth grill. I had to make this up, used fibreglass behind and filler on the front, it's not perfect as I had a bad paint reaction that was hard to correct, so will do for now till I can get working on it outside.

[Image: F8A93DB3-EDA2-4A72-A417-F43E73A442D4.jpg]

[Image: B7087C8E-DDEF-46E0-A818-40C3DE02E495.jpg]

[Image: 69A7A48B-0D4F-482D-8DC7-1CF6B498841E.jpg]

Archs were sorted also, it came with the archs "rolled" but they still scrubbed everything! So with no access to a arch roller I tackled it myself in the most bodgetastic way which I fully expected to fail, jacking the car up and putting carologues between the wheel and arch.......

[Image: A1C83BF3-682C-4010-98CD-8880C4684C30.jpg]

Fully expected to fail, but turned to work better than ever, arch is now clear of the tyre and in a relitively smooth flares

And next was to get it boosting, installed a boost gauge from an old project, used the pod I had, drilled into the a pillar and mounted. All wired in to light up with lights, but being so bright I stole a friends idea and tinted the lens yellow to make it more bareable

[Image: 53FF3F39-7A2D-4CBD-9BE0-4C05B9D33558.jpg]

Also in a moment of madness I painted the top of the rear lights, not sure if I like it yet.
Also dewipered the rear, as I hate wipers aha

Wasn't meant to be a project, was meant to break it but fell in love with it

That is on the to do list, just can't be arsed dropping the lining

Will be used while I save for something else as it's so cheap.
Rallye is still with me, it's currently being returned to standard rust treated and under sealed

Bars bolt externally fella. Not hidden in the lining at all. I ran 35mm countersunk washers after removing mine for a while to hide the holes

You don't need to buddy, there is plastic caps on the rails, you pop them off and get to the torx bolts.

When I removed mine I put in the appropriate size grub screws in the holes with some silicone on the threads to seal them.
There is still a little dip then but it's much less noticeable.

3 plastic caps. One on each leg. Pull off and theres a big torx underneath threaded into the roof.
Best pic ive got fella. Can kinda make them out [Image: e00bcf11f4895c91b5b0be9bb5afba8c.jpg]
