As a finished job, all white undersides look great and overall make the entire car look cleaner, the rally boys do it to cars so when it comes in to service you can immediately see anything broken underneath as it stands out like a sore thumb.
We've used a 1l tin so far, I finished it off today ready for the petrol tank to go back in, to do the whole car it'll probably take about 4l of paint as white needs a few coats to conver it as a solid colour.
I personally prefer silver on my cars as it covers better and has the same effect but it's the customers choice at the end of the day!
You've done a sterling job of that dude
As Zakk said, its just for practicality & cleanliness reasons mainly!

So you've stopped restoring one rusty rallye and started restoring a different rallye and that has turned out to be nearly as rusty?

Iv'e got a family life, megane, 2 rallyes, 2 landrovers amongst other things.
Little bits get done at a time. But it looks largely the same so no new pictures or ,major progress to update.

Usual rust for a Rallye. Will have been jacked on the box sections. Impressive 'repair' though.
Chassis rail looks to have a rather dubious repair on it. Suspect you probably are doing if Zakk is on the case but I'd rip it all off and see what you are faced with.

I don't understand why so many people jack their cars under the chassis box sections!!
Good work on going about saving it! Will keep an eye out to see how the metalwork repairs progress!

Ok we have a mad rush on to return this to a rolling shell for zakk to get it out of his way allowing access to the rest of his unit for a forklift..
So last night we set about re-attaching some front suspension.
Also gave the boot floor some more licks of paint and the rear wheel arches a 2nd coat coming along a little bit now and will be getting a beam on it before the weekend hopefully.

Some wally weighed in an Xsara VTS at work, having checked the mileage and finding only 54k miles on the clock i decided to invest in the rear beam...
Best £25 iv'e spent in a while probably
Sooo me and zakk got it fitted last night
How the car sits now
Now its a rolling shell again i can take abit of time to sort the interior out while an engine is decided upon
