Before you buy anything like this, have a look on what they are like for spare parts too, remember these went out of production well over 20 years ago, and I think were the most binned off citroen due to the price of the suspensions. I remember reading about them in a few mags years ago that they cost nearly £700 quid to fix the suspensions.
But who's to say that is true anyway.

Parts on any old/classic are always gonna be hard to get hold if but the one think that does put me off is the hydrolic suspension cos I know if something brakes on that then it's gonna be big money.

I think a lot of those horror stories are from dealer pricing, if you DIY everything, it probably won't be that bad if you can successfully diagnose.

Check the hydraulic pipes that run all the way under the car. I went to buy one of these off a mate years back, tidy looking car. It pissed it's hydraulics all over the driveway just before I got it off his driveway. These particular pipes meant it was a diesel tank remove job to replace so that's where it stayed as I couldn't be arsed with all that at the time. If you can bend pipes, flare ends, change accumulators etc and have space to do it then it doesn't have to be too expensice I shouldn't think?
Good looking old skool motor now imo, with 12 months ticket on it I'd be tempted :-)

Not always the case mind, The mini/ mgb the ford escort mk1 and mk2, you can get nearly everything for those.
It goes by how popular and sort after the car is, If there isn't any demand for the car, then no one will bother supplying parts.
Also another thing chris is the price of the parts too, when you do manage to get hold of what you need. The proper mini, is a great example for part prices. Prices have jumped up stupidly, for daft things.
bare that in mind, also I do strongly recommend if you can get hold of one, is a proper workshop manual, not the Haynes manual. The workshop manuals are proper mustard and are more detailed than the Haynes manual.
If you are handy with spanners, have a bit of budget, and are a massive fan of these cars. Know of any good forums and owners clubs, you will be able to tackle everything.

Check the front subframes they rust through, hydrolics are fairly easy fix on these my boss has one and somehow manages to get new bits for it.

What do people think its worth? dont wanna pay over odds for it he's asking £1000 for it from how i see it, its only gonna go up in value with the age of it but could be wrong??

There was indeed a GTi model that had a 1.9 8v (XU9J2) engine shared with the 405 SRi/GRi, but the daddy was always the BX 16v that had the 1.9 16v (XU9J4) engine the same as a 405 Mi16... although they're probably getting rare now given the number of them that were engine raped by 205 owners in years gone by.

Yer soild steels, As it stands I have no plans a good service and get it running veg oil, long term (in the 3 week I keep it ) maybe d turbo it if I can over come the hydrolic pump being driven by the cam, it definitely needs more power it's painfully slow.

Audi still here but it's going up for sale soon, I'm sure it'll be fine with 2 baby's boot is a decent size, cars decent size inside I think it'll be fine but as it stands now I only have 1 baby and the next one not due till January and I'll have had a minimum another 2 cars by then, I'd like to think I could keep it but it's same with every car I get board to quickly.

Buggies are different sizes now, you also carry shit loads more round with you nowadays compares to back then.
Not to mention the safety aspect, God forbid the worst to happen but I'd rather a bump in an Audi estate than a little BX.

This bx is now for sale with a turbo diesel engine and hdi gearbox, it's sold as spares or repairs as need some work on to get it right.
Having to sell as I'm unable to work as I need to look after my wife. Hopefully some one might be able to copy the Facebook add across for me.
