Yeah, I listen to that on my phone via wifi when working on cars in the carpark lol. Been after a cheap Sony DAB & 6CD headunit for the Focus pretty much since buying it, they don't come up cheap ever though unfortunately.

Theres 3. Kiss, kiss fresh and Kisstory. Kisstory is alright but they tend to play the same stuff over and over far more than other stations so it gets a bit repetitive.

Also found many lumps of rubber inside so must've been run flat for a while, meaning it wasn't the pot hole I thought and must've been f*cked before I got it! That's what was causing the wheel bearing noise haha, fail.

Not really a hard rock fanboi TBH. 
I spent the majority of my teens/early twenties at underground techno parties in warehouses, barns, woods and the ridgeway. Ran some drum and bass events locally as well for a few years.

Yeah, agreed. Im quite amazed at how good the quality of reception is for pirate.
Used to D.J on 87.5 F.M "u.ks finest". Had a lot less coverage than Raw and got busted quite often. Luckilly for me they never found the studio, only the transmitters.

So, this month hopefully nothing will be spent on the Fiesta as I kinda overspent massively last month lol. Had the afternoon free so decided to give in a proper clean. It seems either the Poorboys wax isn't as effective at the bottom of the tub or maybe I put it on thinner knowing it was running low, either way it didn't last long, and the Simoniz quick detailer I bought cheap in Tesco is shit. It's alright for removing dust but doesn't add any gloss or rain protection like the better ones, so the SRP had come off as well...not good on a dark high miler lol, got fed up of seeing the scratches and swirls!

So did the following -

Wheel cleaner
Pressure wash (inc engine bay)
Single bucket, wash mitt, Merr shampoo wash
Hose rinse
Cheap shampoo for lube and clay mitt
Hose rinse
Drying towel dry
SRP
Megs Gold Class liquid wax (been hanging around the cupboard ages, hadn't gone off)
Poorboys wheel sealant
Sainsburys Vinegar glass cleaner on windows
Meguiars Endurance Gel on tyres
Wipe door shuts
Vacuum inside
Final 'wipe' with a fluffy microfibre

End result - (PS - yes I did get a Fiesta, Focus and Ka in one shot, shame the Mondeo had left by then... )






















Annoyingly the new plates I bought, with the ebay tag line of 'withstands even close pressure washing' appear not to take a quick pass of the jetwash let alone getting close, why cant anywhere make plates any more!? Had the same set on the Focus 18 months before they starting failing from the jetwash.





Also, is there a free way to clean up the dirty tip? I don't have any sort of metal polish and don't want to buy anything just for that lol...

Those are two part plates and they always do that.

I've had mine for nearly two years and they've been fine.

Europl8 who attend shows sell a pair for £25 which are single part plates so won't peel, see if you can find them online.

Ah I see, there are so many on ebay I must've chosen the wrong ones. Unless it was the first ones that were supposed to withstand pressure washing...the ones I can't use to due not postcode or BS number on them.

Don't have the funds to buy any more so will have to put up with these and avoid them with the jetwash tbh. Europl8 do sell online, £25 with free postage atm.

I don't know if the pictures are flattering it slightly, but that really does look to have cleaned up well and looks exceptionally tidy!

Even allowing for the handful of issues that you've found, I still can't quite believe that someone swapped that for what looked from afar to be a distinctly mediocre GTi-6.

It is surprisingly tidy for the mileage, I will admit I don't do any front end close ups because that's suffered from stone chips, but got to remember it has done 116k in just 8 years so not surprising really. But apart from that, it's just very light scratches here and there which are easily detailed out. No door dings or scuffs at all!! Also no rust which is odd considering the badge lol!

I agree though, I don't understand why he would swap, still feel kinda guilty about it and hope the '6 is behaving! I passed him on the road this evening as it happens and he still looks happy enough driving it which is good!

So, little update today.

Have replaced the numberplate lamps as they kept falling out... In hindsight I could've got away with just using bigger screws, didn't realise how they were fixed until after buying. Oh well, they look cleaner anyway lol.





Missed the mileage milestone...gutted!



But the best part, finally got that shock replaced! Realised the best way to remove a rounded bolt was to...let Bash do it with fire and a different 10mm extractor than mine...surprising how easy it is with the right tools and years of experience lol.



Rear end feels better now (not something I can say often! )

However with the MOT due in September I asked him to give it a quick check while up on the ramp.



Slight exhaust blow from a knackered clamp where the Milltek catback joins the cat an advisory.

Rusty solid brake pipe - been advised on last 2 MOTs but looks like a fail this time.

Flexi pipe at a stupid angle and rubbing the spring, looks like Stevie Wonder fitted it tbh, never seen so much bend on one!! Cheap I guess, and fairly easy to replace. The brakes are pretty awful anyway, knew they needed a fluid change so a hose or 2 isn't the end of the world.

But the worst one is the wheel bearing, quite embarrassed by it tbh. It's silent when spun, but there's loads of movement in it, I had wrongly assumed it was something else causing the knocking and movement but appears it's actually the wheel about to fall off, it's not even the one I thought was bearing was knackered on previously... So that kinda needs sorting urgently, that's probably also the reason it wanders in a straight line at speed, I'd been blaming the stupid low profile and wide tyres...

still looks like i have chicken legs lol. to be fair the wheel bearings not going to be that hard to do. if you got the hub off id get it pressed in and out in 20-30 mins
