Actually do something to this tomorrow...I took some boxes down and labels today and bits to make a big shelf to help with storage.
Tomorrow its strip and asses time.
Already know of a few main areas that need a pro to do.

New sills badly welded on..may cut them off and start again.
A panels over filled...for the cost...may get new
N/s boot floor...bad repair...needs cutting out and redoing...same with n/s/r aarch.
And a weird bit on the sill lip o/s/r. I'll get pics tomorrow

why doesn't that surprise me about minis, with the bodge jobs and cost cutting! The mount of stories I have heard about these cars having make up jobs etc, I have lost count!

Seems the more I dig...the more bodges I find...could bodge a bodge...but want to do this right...so it will come into workshop when mickys escort goes for paint...get a proper assement...then do each large job properly.

Interior all out...and engine loom all gone.
So so many little parts missing though....like air ducting and wiring bits...Can see that being a right pita later on.

Front brace bars are welded worse than even my worst efforts which...again...annoying.

Next is remove engine/box.

Then get wire wheels out

wont be a pain in the arse, all you need to do is get your self down to a proper mini dealer and ask for the bits, You can get everything.
All I can say is you are very, very brave taking this on mind. I wouldn't take a mini on like that at all! I would really start from scratch.

So.
Stripped it a bit more.
Got a buyer for the Aseries.

Got wheels off and stripped the tyres.

Time to get polishing...

They are a couple of dings and scuff marks...but alloy restoration places want MAD money for repair. So I will get at them with wet n dry n autoglym...

Open to suggestions to get a proper shine, how to protect the shine and how to mask it off to paint! lol

Also booked in at Mickys...once his mk2 rallye escort goes to paintshop...the mini rolls in for Pavo to cut rust and weld metal ThumbsUp

Lots of work with sand paper and a decent compound/cutting pad?

Never done it personally so couldn't really say from experience but would guess at 1500 / 2000 /2500 / 3000 then compound for a decent polished finish? Maybe further depending how much time you want to put to it

I bet most of it will need replacing! one of the lads on the metro owners club made a start on restoring an E plate one. They bought all the panels what they needed, but when they started stripping it and starting cutting the rot out, more and more rot was found, They ended up using it for spares, for a rolling shell that was found for peanuts.

So after a long long time... this was wheeled into the workshop.

Lets just say we struggled to get it on the two poster safely..... shell is too far for me...

Second shell purchased.
1275 sold today.
Ecu, loom and other parts for new engine were collected after a 6 hour round trip Friday...

As soonas the 16v is on the road...this will get my full attention and be epic. Like, genuinely, epic.

"as soon as 16v is on the road...." - so never then.

3rd shell purchased as it was local and too good to miss.

It's in the workshop.... Currently building a spit/rollover jig.

ECU unlocked. So I should be able to do a bench test of the looms and engine.

1st Jan... Videos start going up

&loads of panels purchased now, nice pile of bargain eBay leftovers had. Sills, A panels, boot repair sections etc.

If the flipping lemon would be useful then this could get on...
Looking at trying to buy a cheap third car basically so I can push lemon aside without me throwing a match at it...then I can focus on this. Parts have been building up for it. A

Too many things on the go mate, chasing your tail. Get back on track with one vehicle seems like they've all got their own issues at the moment let alone starting a new build.

i'm not too sure. you may have to read the reviews on fleabay.
the main thing to be aware of is PSI and CFM rates for them.
I bought a 10 gall one, then found my home compressor want up to it.
plus, you'll have to source a suitable medium for it. ie, soda, blasting sand, etc.
some media are really aggressive.
AND DON'T FORGET YOUR PPI !!!
