Say money was no object and you had the choice between whatever petrol model and whatever diesel model in the 306 range. What would you have? Personally id take the xud all day i like it. Like the way it drives etc. I dont care that its slower in its standard form than the gti
Ps we had this covo at work as ive put 5 engines in mine and i was outnumberd. They would all have petrols.
On a break from 306oc for personal reasons. If anyone needs or wants me most of you have my number and or facebook messenger
Thanks for the good times guys n gals. I might be back. Who knows.

If it was stock for stock and money is no object, seems like a bit of a no brainer. GTi6 all the way

Im not saying stock to stock. Can have highly modified vs highly modified. This thread isnt meant to be whats better and whos knob is bigger than whose. Its what YOU would prefer. Should put a poll at the start.

Petrol, waiting 10 minutes for hot air in the winter isn't my idea of fun!
I'd go with a GTi and i'd pay someone to make it very fast!!

A diesel 205 OR a tidy 306 GTi would be my taking.
306 diesels are just bleh for me - 205s are where it's at or a nice '6 is really good fun!

Yeah i should've really said normalish engines that "fit" in the 306. If you can have some plans for a diesel electric i would like to be part of it lol.

Gti6 for sure, no diesel feels right to me. Fun yes but not as good as a sorted gti6.
Money no object I'd have a high compression n/a throttle bodied screamer.

Money no object I probably wouldn't buy a 306...one of their main features is price...where else do you get GTi6 speed, looks and handling for under a grand!?
With it having to be a 306 though, I'd have a petrol...be a GTi6 fully refurbished to essentially new, no mods...

Money no object and any modifications? OM606 rwd "poverty spec" sleeper estate. With a slightly larger turbo than stock. And a bit more fuel. And straight pipes. Yes, some of them.
