405 overhaul and engine rebuild

[405D-turbo]

finally got around to starting on the 405, such a weapon of a car had it over a year drove the bag out of it was boosting over a bar and a half never let me down ever. ran out of test and was never going to pass so parked it up for few month. miss it to much so front off engine out today time to give her the once over. wondering can anyone send me in the right direction
stone chip or paint for engine bay..
what paint for subframe
any wiring diagrams as alot of senors around engine bay not plugged in
any engine seals kits available
bosh seals kits

Well lad thats a nice yoke ya have. Where bouts in ireland are ya?

Just get rid of any rust in bay and spray it.

Darwen diesels are good for bosch seals kits. Got 2 off them only a fiver a piece.


Micksgarage is good and cheap for any parts you need, head gasket, crankshaft seals etc...

Get hdi rods in it while engines apart aswell.

definately second the HDI rods., sorts out one of the biggest weaknesses of the XUD

ya plenty of small rust on her cant wait to get her cleaned up.. will probly use hammerite or stone chip on engine bay.. thanks for the link on the bosh kit are they hard do or any guides ? thinkin of hdi rods allright.. had her boostin at a bar and a half and turbos perfect happy out :an you tell me how to upload photoes properly ?

If i was you id bring rusty parts back to bare clean steel with a wire wheel and etch prime them parts.

No not that hard done once you get setup on a clean bench with all parts cleaned and tgat. Ill get you the link for rebuild.

Aye they'l boost that happy enuf for a good while, 2 bar is when it gets fun ☺

Without hdi rods your just waitin to hear a bang and see a hole in the block at that boost ☺
