Went to change the fan switch and it turns out I've ordered the wrong one, the new one has 2 contacts where the old one has 3?
What is the centre connection for? And can I fit this one?
I need the rallye ready for mot on Monday, but they can't do emissions and as fans don't kick in until about 110c+. Is that normal? Anything I can do?

Ahh shit, it's not that easy on the Isle of Wight haha, closest one is 7miles! What temperature should the fans kick in?

Just bridge over it for the mot test. Factor ones don't last long from experience

Just to note my doesn't have a brown sensor as is a rallye. I have a sensor in the rad which controls the fans. Is the plug bridgeable so I could put it a switch attached to two wires and the to the switch. Use the switch to close bridge when I want them on?

We tested this ; and the fans kicked in, but would that help for 2 speed?
Matt's fans do kick in, but at higher temp, no lower temp kick in

We bridged and it kicked in.
But the fans don't actually kick in on their own until nearer 110

low fan should be sufficient, obvious symptoms of failing thermoswitch if it'll run with the pins bridged, if ut didnt then youll have a failed resistor.

I'd keep it as it is, especially as it's getting colder anyway... get it on the road!

Yeah but I can't mot it as they think it's overheating and won't do emissions on it haha
Plus with my hand in cast, putting wheels and a exhaust is gunna prove difficult haha

Mine is a normal 6 and i have the same issue - will run when bridged but i only have the high speed fan that works like you. Really interested to see if you solve this as mine has been like it for 18 months

Just needs a new switch.
Is yours the switch that is in the rad?
Going to bridge it to get it through the mot.
Anyone know which pins to bridge?
