I picked up a C3 for the other half last weekend.
It's a 2006 1.4 Desire. 111k on the clock and picked it up for £1,200.
I bought it with no service history, got it home and found a folder under the boot floor full of receipts totaling thousands of pounds including a receipt for a full top end rebuild a little under 12 months ago.
So I gave it a full service, a new rocker cover gasket and replaced the front brakes yesterday.
The only brakes were rather worn and the discs badly warped.
Someone got their moneys worth out of these pads!
The spark plugs were a nice shade of brown which is always a reassuring sign!
I stuck a double din radio in. A bit nerve racking having to take a hacksaw to the dash, but it all went well!
And I replaced the door speakers too!
The old speakers were rivited in so I drilled the rivets out, tapped an M4 thread and used brass pan head screws with a bit of threadlock to hold the new speakers in!
Meanwhile my missus decided the KA was too cold for the cat and put the livingroom mat on the car.
Once I've finished tidying up the KA and get it sold the C3 will be getting a set of 206 GTi wheels, uprated shocks, lowering springs and a strut brace to make it handle a bit less boat like and I may look into some aftermarket cams to give it a little more go.
It's nice to have a PSA car back in the house though!

Long time no see mate, nice little toy, you need to change those seats though, most uncomfortable things ever.

My dad has a c3, he is adamant that if you take the stereo out, the car will not work! Things like lights and windscreen wipers!
The brakes on his are insane! Brush your foot against them and you're picking teeth up from the footwell....

If I could get a 100% answer on 406 283mm discs and calipers fitting I would have upgraded them.

I wouldn't say the seats are uncomfortable. They are high however. The entire interior needs replacing, the last owner must have smoked 40 a day in the car.
Wonder if C2 seats would fit?

They are over assisted but fade fast! Could do with bigger, vented discs.

'kin 'ell, what you doing here man??
My little sister has just bought a C3 1.4 16v HDI, it's pretty pokey, but agree on the brakes, stupidly over assisted. It's like a sunshine bus too with the high driving position and all the glass.

Had a phone call off the missus this morning saying it's coming up with 'anti pollution fault', engine management light flashing and it won't start. Uh oh.

definitely.
Of course, all these 1.4 C3's with their spark plugs and DPF problems.
It's more than likely the O2 sensor, changed one on a C2 a few years back showing the same fault.

Crank position sensor went pop. Gave it a clout and she started but kept logging a fault.
There's also a code relating to injector 1 control circuit.

Anti pollution fault on a pug or Citroen of that age literally means f*ck all lol. It's basically just saying "oh oh, look at me. There's something wrong with me but am I going to even give you the remotest idea of what? Am I f*ck!"

Turned out to be the crank position sensor.
Had to change the front N/S shock as it was starting to leak and had have a playh with the exhaust as it was blowing on the join between the center section and the back box.
It's a damm sight nicer to drive than my Focus is right now.
