My hidden away rare Phase 1 309 GTI
#1
If you like your retros, you may like this Smile

Although i have my 306 estate that i use as my daily and im currently in the process of doing a few small jobs too. I also have a 309 GTI as my show car. It is a bit of marmite car you either love or hate them.
They have always been left in the shadow of the 205.

I was very fortunate to this purchase this rebuilt, however i have just been doing the very minor attention to detail jobs on the car, as a couple of bits needed doing.

The only thing that i will probably do this year is remove the chrome for O/E finish.

Enjoy peeps

That. Is. Amazing.

How can you call that "virtually" concourse?! lol It is glaringly obvious how much care and attention has gone into that 309, and I have to side with Niall and say that is easily amongst my favourite cars on this forum!

Fair play to you sir, I am unbelievably jealous! ThumbsUp

It won't class as concourse as some of the colours used underneath aren't the original colours (i don't think). Its not just about cleanliness. Also about attention to original details.
Still, i wouldn't care. If i owned that, it would be garaged, my bed would be next to it and it would only come out on warm sunny days lol

Now that is brilliant! Just looking for a 205 myself but if a good 309 came up I'd jump on it.

Thanks everyone for the comments, if any of you are going Pugfest this the car will be there along with the 306 too. I will try and get some more images when i go over to my garage next.

Its a full time job keeping clean though. It could do with a machine polisher running over it as it does have some very minor swirls in the paint. Which you cant help, but makes a black car look rubbish.
